Accessing API key setting: To access your API key settings:
- Log in to your BitDelta account.
- On the left sidebar, under Profile, select API Keys.
This section will allow you to create, manage, and delete your API keys, which can be used to connect your BitDelta account to external trading platforms, bots, or other services.
API Key Section Overview: Upon entering the API Key section, you'll see the following key features:
- Create API Key Button: This button allows you to create a new API key. Each BitDelta account can have up to 5 API keys.
- Notes:
- Be aware that your API Key may be disclosed to third-party platforms when authorized.
- You must have completed KYC and enabled 2FA to create an API key.
- Key Fields:
- Name: This is the name you assign to each API key for easy identification.
- API Key: The unique key generated by the system to authorize access.
- Transaction Limit (USD): The maximum transaction limit associated with each key.
- Action: You can delete an API key from this section.
Creating an API Key: To create an API key, follow these steps:
- Click the "Create API Key" button on the API Key page.
- A pop-up will appear with the following fields to complete:
- Name: Enter a descriptive name for your API key (e.g., "Trading Bot").
- IP Address: Enter the authorized IP address. This restricts the use of your API key to specific IP addresses for added security.
- Transaction Limit (USD): Set a maximum transaction limit for this API key in US dollars.
- After filling in the details, click Create.
Security Verification: After clicking Create, you will be asked to enter your Authenticator Code from your 2FA app to complete the API key creation process. Enter the code and click Confirm.
- Once the API key is created, copy the Secret Key. The key will be displayed only once, so make sure to save it securely.
- After copying the secret key, click Close.
Managing your API Keys: Once you have created an API key, it will appear in the list with the following details:
- Name: The name of your API key for easy identification.
- API Key: Part of the API key will be visible, with the option to copy it to the clipboard by clicking the icon.
- Transaction Limit: Displays the transaction limit in USD for that particular key.
- Delete: Click Delete to remove an API key if it’s no longer needed.
Deleting an API key: To delete an API key:
- Click the Delete button next to the API key you want to remove.
- A confirmation pop up will appear to ensure you want to delete the key.
Once deleted, the API key can no longer be used to access your BitDelta account.
